In conjunction with the giving spirit of the holidays, The Shippers Group participated in the Salvation Army and Angel Tree programs this year, as well as the Marine Toys for Tots program—all of which have been a part of our “Give Back” initiative for a few years. The Shippers Group implemented our Give Back program as a way to say thank you and show our support by participating in events and making donations to the organizations working to make our world a better place.
In addition to our team’s donations, each year the Corporate Team picks a day where they can go as a team to help sort, label, and distribute the Angel Tree gifts to the families, ensuring that children and elders will have something under the tree on Christmas morning. These are selfless tasks that range from shopping in the warehouse when an angel’s wish wasn’t fulfilled to sorting through and bagging items that have been received from other adoptions and quality-checking each item. While the Corporate Team has a few give back initiatives throughout the year, such as North Texas Food Bank where they box canned goods, Amanda Bowden, Human Resources Coordinator explains why this volunteer effort is so special:
“The Salvation Army volunteer initiative hits home with our logistic-minded team. It’s a fun and rewarding, team building experience that we look forward to each year.”
“Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need it most.”
