Town Hall Meeting Creates a Sounding Board for Employees

Posted by Robin Siekerman on Jun 19, 2018

The Shippers Group is committed to fostering an open workplace culture. They support this by  keeping the lines of communication open for their employees. The leadership team developed a regular Town Hall meeting at each Shippers Group facility to facilitate the Roundtable Discussion Board.

Five to seven employees are asked to come to the meeting with suggestions for improvement in their locations and other "hot" topics. A variety of topics are covered including benefits, safety, and workplace training. Employees are encouraged to present ideas, voice opinions and ask questions.

"We invest in our people and we believe that good ideas can come from every level of the company. The Shippers Group is a place where employees are given opportunities to share their innovative ideas for improvements and discuss their challenges," says Rob Doyle, president of The Shippers Group.

At a recent town hall meeting in Austell, GA employees were focused on standard operating procedures and training in their Town Hall meeting discussion.
