Forklift safety is of great importance every day, but during the month of June we are giving extra attention to the topic of forklift safety. Safety is our number one priority, and it is one of our core values at The Shippers Group.
Our bodies are comprised mostly of water and maintaining the proper balance of water is important for our systems to function properly. Staying properly hydrated is important. Warehouse associates should ensure they are consuming enough water to maintain the proper balance of water and electrolytes in their bodies, especially during the hot summer months.

The Shippers Group is excited to announce the recent addition to our Operational Excellence Team, Monica Soraney! Monica was hired as the Industrial Engineer for our Atlanta operations. In her new role, Monica will support the Operational Excellence Team in leading cultural transformation by training Lean Concepts aligned with our core values. A few of her day-to-day responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining “Best Practices”, implementing enhancements to existing work method flows, researching and implementing technological advancements, and driving overall efficiency.
Today is National Forklift Safety Day, a day which is recognized every year to reinforce the importance of operator safety training and forklift safety practices. As safety is one of our core values and our #1 priority, today and throughout the entire month of June, The Shippers Group is highlighting the importance of forklift training and best safety practices.
In our May update, we mentioned how we are entering a new phase of the pandemic now that vaccines are widely available to anyone over the age of 12. The rate of vaccinated Americans has increased from just over 40% to 63% in the past 30 days.
