TSG President Recognized at IWLA Conference

The International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA) held their annual conference earlier this month in Savannah, Georgia. Rob Doyle, President and Hugh Tait, Snr. VP of Customer Solutions were at the conference on behalf of The Shippers Group. IWLA offers outstanding education and support resources to the warehousing industry. Rob Doyle is past chairman of the IWLA and Hugh Tait volunteers his time to instruct IWLA members about productivity, rates and sales.

Kurt Wenzel Named General Manager at Wintergreen Facility

The Shippers Group is happy to announce another promotion from within the company of Kurt Wenzel to General Manager of their Wintergreen location in Hutchins, TX. Kurt has worked for The Shippers Group for almost 7 years and has worked in warehousing and logistics industry for 28 years. Starting as a forklift driver while in school, Kurt has worked in almost every position as a warehouse operator from pulling orders to unloading and loading trailers, spotting trailers, etc. Upon completion of his degree in Business Administration, Kurt officially began his career in warehousing as a forklift driver and worked his way up the supervisory ranks to General Manager of multi-client high-volume facilities.

Rob Doyle Receives Executive Warehouse Logistics Profession (EWLP) Designation

The Shippers Group Attends 64th Annual Food Shippers of America Conference

VP of Marketing Robin Siekerman, Director of Customer Service Kris Hill and Director of Transportation Management Laina Grimland represented The Shippers Group at the 64th Annual Food Shippers of America Conference in sunny Palm Desert California. The Conference Agenda was packed with opportunities for food manufacturers and distributors and logistics providers to network and discover ways to improve and enhance their supply chain performance. Among the approximately 1150 attendees at FSA were representatives of The Shippers Group who met with customers and future customers from the food industry at various events throughout the three day conference. Headlining this year’s conference was the legendary Archy Manning who gave an inspirational message of motivation and resilience in the face of adversity, and astronaut Jim Lovell who shared amazing facts regarding the heroic team effort of the astronauts on board and Mission Control in Houston to return the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission back to earth after the mission suffered a critical failure en route to the moon.
