Last year, The Shippers Group held a Pet Contest for National Pet Day. In the midst of lockdowns and stay-at-home orders, it was a fun way to bring good cheer to our essential and hardworking team. Little did we know how much of a hit it would be, so we decided to bring it back this year and make it an annual contest for our associates!

At the beginning of the month we announced that we would be holding the contest on Facebook again this year to all of our associates—this time, upping the stakes and choosing three winners instead of one. Associates were encouraged to send in photos of their pets to be part of the contest. All pets were welcomed to participate, and that they did! We had over 50 entries—goats, bunnies, dogs, cats, snakes, birds, cows—you name it, we had it!

Each pet entry that was submitted was then posted on our Shippers Group Facebook page, and every "Like/Reaction" on the photo was counted as one vote. By the end of the contest, the top three photos with the most votes were our winners.

Congratulations to the pet owners, Mike Morales (George Cooney) out of our Jonesboro Packaging facility, Berenice Cervantes (Nino) out of our Wilmer facility, and Birch Clinton Kweku Freeman (Khujo) also out of our Wilmer facility! As you may have seen on our National Pet Day post on April 11th, all three pets were featured in our post and the winning owners received gift cards for the corresponding places.

We had such a fun time seeing all the entries and watching the contest unfold, and we received great feedback from our associates telling us how much fun they had. Thank you to our associates and to their friends and family for liking and sharing our contest to make it a success. The contest garnered more engagement than we’ve ever reached on Facebook. We reached thousands of people, with almost 3,000 engagements, resulting in nearly 100 new people following and liking our page!
