The Shippers Group Lends a Helping Hand to CCD

Posted by Margaret Harvey on Nov 29, 2022

In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, we want to highlight a recent volunteer event members of our corporate team participated in! These team members demonstrated our Shippers Gives Back commitment by lending a helping hand and giving back to our community through Catholic Charities Dallas (CCD).

On November 8th, several members of our corporate team spent the day outside of the warehouse and in the community doing some good with CCD. The day consisted of sorting and bagging produce to be distributed to families in need, and stocking the shelves and freezers for when the food bank reopens to the public. And – since logistics is our forte – we happily volunteered to also move and organize the empty pallets for storage! Needless to say, it was a fulfilling day and our team had a great time! We are eager to participate in more opportunities next month and spread more holiday cheer to others in our community!

Shippers Gives Back is The Shippers Group commitment to give charitably through a variety of efforts that help those in need and strengthen our communities. We support a variety of volunteer activities year-round and have partnered with Catholic Charities Dallas over the past few years for our annual canned food drive. The holidays are a time for community, family and togetherness, and opportunities such as this are a great reminder of how important and valuable a little giving back can be.

“Nothing else in all life is such a maker of joy and cheer as the privilege of doing good.”
– James Russell Miller

About Catholic Charities Dallas

CCD was formally established in 1941 and incorporated from the Catholic Diocese of Dallas in 1997. Annually, CCD helps over 275,000 individuals achieve stability and self-sufficiency through financial literacy, employment services, education, food programs immigration legal services, refugee resettlement, disaster services, and permanent supportive housing.

CCD is comprised of 31 individual programs serving the 9 counties in North Texas that make up the Diocese of Dallas. Each individual program has a particular strength and service area that represents the diversity of the populations we serve, yet our efforts to restore dignity to our community members in need remain the same regardless of what program serves them.

From homelessness to hunger, from victims of abuse to refugees of ware and oppression, from the hurting to the lost, we partner with our clients to serve them during the greatest time of need and continue to walk with them on their journey to self-sufficiency.
