In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the federal government issued multiple executive orders and emergency notices, most of which refer to “essential workers.” The President also issued the Coronavirus Guidance for America, declaring certain operations, such as food supply, a critical infrastructure industry in which we had a social responsibility to maintain our normal work schedule.

President Rob Doyle, stated “As a designated “Essential Service” by the U.S. Government, we have stayed open from the onset of this crisis with the intention to stay open and operating at full capacity to make sure the food and healthcare products we store are getting out to the community.” He continued to say how incredibly proud he is of all of our associates and how he appreciates “the hard work, dedication, and courage displayed on a daily basis as we remain open to keep loading trucks with those essential items.”

To celebrate our super-hero associates who ensured delivery of essential food, healthcare, and other consumer packaged goods to households across America, appreciation luncheons were held companywide throughout the month of June.

Rialto CSR Manager, Chris Gomez commented “Today was a day to celebrate the persons that were deemed Essential – Absolutely Necessary, Extremely Important, Crucial, Key, Vital, Needed! To say this hasn’t been a challenge would be a lie…it takes many to continue to succeed and these faces, these individuals, they make us proud. We all worked to meet our customers’ expectations and as we continue to do so, we shine as a group – The Shippers Group.”
