At The Shippers Group, we remain committed to giving back to our communities. We implemented our Give Back Program a few years ago as a way to say thank you and show our support by participating in events and making donations to the organizations working to make our world a better place. These opportunities remind us of the importance of being a good neighbor and lending a helping hand to those in need.
During the holidays each year, The Shippers Group participates in a variety of toy drives and collections. This year, our facility at Grand Lakes chose to participate in the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program, whose mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas. Through the gift of a new toy, they are able to help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America's children in need.
A few weeks ago, associates at Grand Lakes purchased dozens upon dozens of toys to donate to the program, blowing us away with the generous size of the collection! Making their participation even more special, these toy drives are personal tasks—our employees shop for and purchase the items on their own, and as a result, collectively meet the needs of the children as a team.
