What is Black History Month?

Black History Month, also known as African American History Month, is observed every February and celebrates the contributions that African Americans have made to American History. Respect and recognition of their struggle for freedom and equality deepens our understanding of our Nation’s true history.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is observed every year from September 15^th to October 15^th, and celebrates the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Mexico, Spain, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.
