Employee Appreciation Raffle at The Shippers Group

With the labor shortage crisis this year, a lot of businesses have been experiencing staffing and attendance issues. Especially during the holiday season—not to mention an ongoing pandemic—it can be hard to juggle work and kids being out of school.

That is why we chose to promote and show our appreciation to our dedicated associates who show up to work each day to service our customer.

During the month of November, The Shippers Group held a raffle for two TVs and a wide range of gift cards. Associates received one raffle ticket for each week they worked their entire scheduled week without being late or leaving early. Totaling up to four possible tickets, they also had opportunities to earn extra tickets for completing tasks like submitting improvement ideas for the site.

COVID-19 Update: Week 43

This week marks the one year anniversary of the first COVID vaccine. Approximately 59% of people have been fully vaccinated, and anyone over the age of 5 years old is able to be vaccinated. If you have not been vaccinated, please consider doing so. The vaccine does not guarantee that you will not get COVID, but if you get COVID, your chances of becoming severely ill are dramatically reduced.

With the holidays upon us, the spread of illness is on the rise as people gather indoors. Please continue to follow guidance from the CDC to keep you and your loved ones safe.

  • The pandemic has increased food insecurity among families with children and communities of color, who were already faced hunger at much higher rates before the pandemic.
  • Every community in the country is home to families who face hunger. But rural communities are especially hit hard by hunger.
  • Many households that experience food insecurity do not qualify for federal nutrition programs and visit their local food banks and other food programs for extra support.

COVID-19 Update: Week 42

As the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays will soon be here, there are new concerns about the spread of COVID. Health officials are concerned over the recent uptick in COVID cases across the upper Midwest and Northeast as the colder weather drives people indoors.

Some advice for a safer family gathering this Thanksgiving is to open windows or try to gather outdoors where possible. Good ventilation is believed to be just as important as vaccination.
