It's the ninth straight BRC Certification by the Grand Lakes team who recently underwent this year's BRC audit and is once again proud to retain an AA rating. The rating is the highest announced audit rating possible for the BRC Storage and Distribution Standard Audit.
The Shippers Group is committed to fostering an open workplace culture. They support this by keeping the lines of communication open for their employees. The leadership team developed a regular Town Hall meeting at each Shippers Group facility to facilitate the Roundtable Discussion Board.
Five to seven employees are asked to come to the meeting with suggestions for improvement in their locations and other "hot" topics. A variety of topics are covered including benefits, safety, and workplace training. Employees are encouraged to present ideas, voice opinions and ask questions.

In his 18 months of leadership as President, Rob Doyle has introduced several changes centered on initiatives that improve the overall customer experience while increasing revenue and profit for the company. Forklift and pedestrian safety is our goal anywhere or time a forklift is in use at The Shippers Group. The Industrial Truck Association has declared June 12th as National Forklift Safety Day, and we are using this day to reinforce safety tips! ITA is the leading organization for manufacturers of forklifts and industrial trucks, and their mission includes promoting forklift safety through an alliance with OSHA providing safety seminars and training materials.
The International Warehouse Logistics Association brings together industry specialists in warehouse operations and 3PL sales to share their knowledge and expertise. Hugh Tait, Senior Vice President of Customer Solutions at The Shippers Group, has served IWLA in this capacity numerous times. He instructs warehousing professionals on topics ranging from sales, pricing and marketing strategy, most recently at the IWLA Economics of Warehousing & 3PL Sales Course.
