IWLA is conducting their Essentials of Warehousing Course at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta this week and our very own Lisa Bond is a guest instructor focusing on Food Safety. 

What started as a cotton warehouse in 1901 has evolved over the past 117 years into one of the nation’s leading 3PLs. Beginning in Dallas in the late 70's, Shippers Warehouse became well known in the southern region for providing excellent service to the grocery industry. By the early 2000’s, the company had expanded its footprint into Georgia and was serving several industries, including consumer packaging, automotive and building materials. Now known as The Shippers Group, the company provides traditional warehousing and transportation services along with a variety of value-add services for contract packaging, e-commerce fulfillment, and nationwide transportation services.

Diane has been working diligently in her capacity as Director of HR and Safety to be the voice of our employees and lead the charge in our efforts to provide a safe work environment for all TSG employees. She believes strongly in developing associates through focused driven training so that they can reach their full potential. It is because of her tireless dedication and advocacy for our employees that we are proud to congratulate Diane Villafana on her recent promotion to Vice President of Human Resources & Safety Compliance at The Shippers Group.

Our Wilmer team scored the highest rating achievable, an AA rating for 2018, for the BRC Global Standards Audit for Storage and Distribution. This is a repeat of AA rating receive in 2017 at Wilmer. BRC incorporated the rating into the audit program in 2017. Prior to this, Wilmer received the highest scores from BRC in 2014-2016. Ahead of BRC, Wilmer received Superior Ratings from AIB International in 2011-2013.
