Women’s Equality Day, celebrated every year on August 26th, commemorates the passage of women’s suffrage in the United States. On this day we are reminded of the hurdles overcome by the heroic women who faced violence and discrimination to propel the women’s movement forward.
The pandemic has weighed heavily on working women yet supply chain leaders have managed to maintain and even advance representation of women in their organization. According to Gartner’s 2022 Women in Supply Chain, the survey shows that the percentages of women at first-line managers/supervisor, senior manager and director levels have increased since 2021. That being said, supply chain still continues to have a problem pulling women up to senior level ranking, with women only occupying 21% of supply chain’s vice president and senior director-level positions.
